Azerbaijan first hosted a Grand Prix in 2016 for the European Grand Prix, taking place at the Baku City Circuit. The next year this venue hosted the first Azerbaijan Grand Prix and was amongst 5 races that year to be held on a street circuit, including Monaco and Singapore. Daniel Ricciardo for Red Bull was the first winner of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2017, while Max Verstappen won last year in 2022 again for Red Bull.
The Baku City Street circuit is seen as one of the fastest and exciting Grand Prix of the season and the 2024 will be the 7th one held in Baku, missing out in 2020 due to Covid restrictions. The F1 cars when they are flying down the 2.22-kilometre-long main straight can reach speeds of 349 km/h.
The famous designer Herman Tilke created the circuit and incorporated the fastest straight of the F1 Championship into the design, with some interesting corners through the historic streets of Baku, making this a unique experience for any novice or expert of Formula One.
Flying to Baku has an average flight time of about 5 hours 30 minutes from London Heathrow, and we know our clients will love the warm welcome, hospitality, food and drink they will receive when they arrive in this lovely city steeped in history. Marvel at the distinctive Flame Towers and take a slow meander through the streets of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town. With its mix of Western and Eastern cultures, it is the perfect place to enjoy the Grand Prix and we are happy to offer our clients a range of VIP Hospitality Packages for this great event.
